“When the heart is healed, everything heals”
Fawzia Al-Rawi
In the golden age of Al-Andalus, between the 8th and 13th centuries, music was more than an art—it was a path to wholeness, nurturing the heart, body, and spirit through the use of maqams. These ancient, oriental scales, rich with specific melodic patterns, can heal and harmonize, balancing our emotions, bodies, and souls. Rooted in this timeless tradition, our music continues this legacy, using the maqams to open the heart and invite profound healing.
Each composition we offer is woven with Divine Names— sacred qualities that dwell within us all. When we chant these names, their vibrations awaken these qualities, guiding us towards awareness and restoration. The language of these Divine Names is Arabic, a feminine and sacred tongue, laden with deep meanings and healing power. Every letter, every breath within this language is a vessel of wisdom, echoing the insights of revered Sufi scholars.
The union of music and Divine Names births a transformative experience. The intricate scales of the maqams ,form the basis for what is known as taksim in Arabic music, an improvisational flow that resonates deeply, dissolving inner blockages. As we sing or chant the Divine Names, a powerful energy is invoked, one that can shift and heal.
In the light of this sacred tradition, we perceive music as a bridge to the divine, a channel through which we can delve into the depths of our being, discovering both solace and strength. As the melodies unfold and the Divine Names are chanted, we are gently reminded of the eternal connection between sound and spirit, and the ever-present potential for healing and transformation.
THE MUSICIANS
We are musicians from varied background, working in different fields. We have both knowledge from western classical and oriental music, allowing us to bridge these two worlds and open hearts through our music, beyond separation. Each of us brings a unique voice, a distinct quality, woven into the fabric of our music. From a place of deep presence, known as "Hadra," our music flows like a river of light, restoring balance, dissolving obstacles, and evoking a sense of harmony, comfort, love, and peace.
Our group has variable geometry.

“FOR THE SOUL, FROM THE SOUL”
“When we are giving a music session, we enter in a state of prayer, to support our concentration, we often wear a veil, like on this picture. May our hearts always stay open and see beyond forms.”
